The sentence that survives if the rest of the article disappears. Recorded at publish, never more than one per piece. If no sentence survives, the observation is not finished.

The canonical sentence is the residue of the piece, never its goal. Entries are earned by published observations only. There are no speculative entries.
The system does not break at the breakpoint. That is where it starts making sense.
